Since 2016, Danville Dental Associates has been serving our patients at Roman Eagle Memorial Home in Danville, Virginia. Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization providing both short and long-term care and rehabilitative services.
We Brought the Office to the Patient
As a resident, receiving dental care can be a difficult process. Some experience mobility difficulties and, more than likely, have to pay transportation fees to the office. Danville Dental Associates saw a need to be met, so we brought our office to the Roman Eagle facility. On the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, Dr. Albert Payne and his assistant, Kim Sadler, visit patients at Roman Eagle in a “dedicated” dental office. Lisa Perez, a dental hygienist, also assists. Danville Dental offers most of the basic dental services, such as cleanings, fillings, extractions, and dentures; partial and full. Teresa Cook, at Danville Dental Associates, coordinates scheduling the patients with Heather Hair, Social Services Coordinator at Roman Eagle. Heather says, “Dr. Payne and his staff are a great asset to Roman Eagle. They allow our residents to have dental services in the comfort of their own home. They are very prompt, compassionate and efficient toward our residents.”
Rewarding Challenges
Treating patients who have mobility challenges can be tricky! If the patient is unable to sit in the dental chair, the services are done while sitting in their wheel chair. Medical issues, such as the inability to communicate with staff, or even having water in their mouth, are worked around during each visit. The dental health of the Roman Eagle residents is important to us at Danville Dental Associates. It is one of the many ways we care for the South side Virginia community and also very rewarding.
