Crown & Bridge Post-Op Instructions — Danville
- It is normal to experience some irritation or discomfort in the gums surrounding the tooth. This can usually be relieved by using warm saltwater rinses and over-the-counter analgesics. You may also have some sensitivity to hot and cold. If you experience any extended discomfort or unusual symptoms, please call the office for instructions.
- Avoid chewing any hard or sticky foods or candies on your temporary crown. This could break or dislodge it.
- If your temporary crown should break, loosen, or come off, call the office as soon as possible to have the problem corrected. If not corrected promptly, it could lead to the finished crown not fitting properly. If breakage occurs, save any pieces you find and bring them with you. If necessary, you can put denture adhesive (ex: Fixodent) inside your temporary crown until you can come in.
- Clean around your temporary crown as directed by your dentist.
