Teeth Bleaching Instructions — Danville
Brushing and flossing are extremely important while undergoing the bleaching process. All plaque must be removed for the solution to penetrate every tooth surface.
- Do not eat or drink while the tray is in the mouth.
- Apply a small even strip of gel into the tray area that contacts the front of your teeth. Insert the tray so it seats firmly around the teeth. Remove excess gel from your gums with a cotton swab or toothbrush to prevent sensitivity.
- If you experience any sensitivity of the teeth or gums during treatment, decrease the time the bleaching trays are worn. If sensitivity persists, discontinue use immediately and call the office.
- Week 1 – Wear tray for 1-2 hours daily
- Week 2 – Wear tray 2-4 hours daily, with only 2 hours of continuous wear.
- After each treatment, rinse the mouth and the tray thoroughly with water – cleaning tray with water and a toothbrush.
- We recommend you wait 1 to 2 hours after removing the tray before eating or drinking anything except water.
- Limit the use of tea, coffee, tobacco products, and dark colas during the entire treatment.
- Gel should be refrigerated after opening.
