Meet Your Danville Dentist Dr. Lopez
Madisyn Lopez, DMD
As a Danville native, Dr. Madisyn Lopez first studied at Virginia Commonwealth University to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and baccalaureate certificate in Product Innovation. She later went on to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry for her Doctor of Dental Medicine. Today, she loves being able to make a significant change in her community by improving one smile at a time.
Dr. Lopez decided to become a dentist due to her experiences growing up that showed her the kind of impact low oral health education can have on people. She then became dedicated to wanting to increase awareness and education on oral health and set her sights on a career in dentistry. During summers in college, she would return home and intern at her old dental office in Danville. She also volunteered for a Mission of Mercy project as well as participated in Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinics—both of which provided free dental care to people in need. Witnessing the kind of positive effect she could have on others made her even more ecstatic about becoming a dentist. The rest is history.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Lopez has gone on to complete countless hours of continuing education to refine her skills. She’s also a proud member of both the American Dental Association and the American Dental Education Association.
Whenever she isn’t at the office, Dr. Lopez spends time with her husband and her pet dogs and cats. Other than treating pearly whites, she also enjoys hanging out outdoors, hiking, traveling, and sitting down with a good book. One interesting fact about her is that she was once published as a co-author in the Journal of Lipid Research during her undergraduate at VCU for her research on breast cancer.
