Root Canal Post-Op Instructions — Danville

Avoid heavy chewing on the involved tooth for at least one week.
You may experience some tenderness or soreness in the tooth. These are normal post-operative symptoms. Normally this can be relieved with over-the-counter analgesics (Aleve, Advil, Tylenol). We recommend 2 Ibuprofen and 1 Extra Strength Tylenol tablets taken at the same time.
If you experience extended discomfort or swelling, contact the office for instructions.
Once the root canal procedure is completed, your treatment is not finished. It is vital that you have the tooth restored as directed by your dentist (filling and/or crown). If this portion of the treatment is not completed, it could lead to failure and potentially loss of the tooth.
